Please take a good hard look at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hospital & VAVS Program. Veterans in VA Hospitals, Veterans Homes, and Nursing facilities need our help because in many cases, they cannot help themselves.
Hospitals may provide the medical treatment for veterans, but it’s the volunteers that can help them cope with the daily routine. Volunteers can provide that extra ray of sunshine or smile to those less fortunate. All veterans are not in Federal orState facilities; they can be confined to private facilities in the community or even at home. As volunteers, we provide that service to show the community that we care and have not forgotten the people that are less fortunate. Volunteers also provide valuable service to ensure that facilities are providing adequate care for our men and women.
Posts throughout our State spend their time and resources helping bring a bit of cheer to Veterans who have had health challenges. To assist in our efforts please contact your local Post or one of the Hospital Facilities in your area.

VA White Ribbon Program
The VA is committed to meeting the health care needs of women veterans." Robyn Kuznik- National VFW Auxiliary Hospital Ambassador.
Women make up 30% of all VA Health care (VHA) patients and are the fastest growing group of veterans. Women veterans want Healthcare they can trust and feel comfortable using. The VA wants to provide that Service. The VA's Podcast "She Wears the Boots" goal is educating women on their Services, focusing on the gender-specific services and their Healthcare concerns. For more information and to access the podcast and blogs visit She Wears the Boots. Also check out the VA Podcast Network for more information on many other subjects affecting Veterans and their families.
Another important program is the White Ribbon VA that was inspired by the White Ribbon organization, "It is a National call to eliminate Sexual Harrassement , Assault and Domestic Volence and promoting positive change." Started in Toronto in 1991, it is "The worlds largest movement of men and boys working to end violence against women and girls." The organization is in over sixty countries, including College Campuses and military bases and stations including the US. For more information go to www.whiteribbonusa.org
